Three Zone Mini Split Systems Installed Flat Rate $2000 Per Unit

Updated September 2026

If you need to cool and heat three separate rooms without ductwork, a three zone mini split system is the practical choice. Each room gets its own indoor unit connected to a single outdoor condenser, giving you independent temperature control for bedrooms, an office, or a living area. In Central Texas, mini splits are heat pumps that handle our brutal summers and mild winters without needing a separate furnace.

Mini Split Reef keeps things simple. We post a flat rate of $2000 per indoor unit installed, no matter how many zones you need. That includes equipment, labor, line set, standard electrical, refrigerant, testing, cleanup, and even a Home Depot run for touch up paint. There are no trip fees or surprise add ons. We list honest exceptions up front a very long line set, a panel upgrade the house already needed, or unusually difficult mounting and never charge for them after the fact.

How a Three Zone Mini Split Works

A three zone mini split system uses one outdoor condenser that connects to three indoor wall mounted units. Each indoor unit has its own remote and thermostat, so you can set different temperatures in each room. Because mini splits are ductless, there is no energy loss through duct leaks, and you avoid the cost of retrofitting ductwork. The system operates as a heat pump, meaning it extracts heat from outside air to warm your home in winter and reverses the cycle to cool in summer. In the Austin climate, this provides efficient year round comfort without a backup heating source.

The Mini Split Reef Difference

Most local HVAC contractors price mini split installations on a custom quote basis, often charging $3,000 to $6,000 per zone and requiring an in home sales visit. Mini Split Reef publishes a single flat rate $2000 per indoor unit installed anywhere in our service area. That rate covers everything for a standard install, including the outdoor unit, indoor units, line set, electrical connections, refrigerant, and testing. Property managers, landlords, and multi unit owners receive a volume discount off the $2000 per unit rate for three zone systems and larger projects. We do not hide fees or add charges after you agree.

What to Expect with a Three Zone Install

A typical three zone installation takes one to two days. Our crew runs line sets from the outdoor condenser to each indoor location, mounts the indoor units, and connects standard electrical. We pressure test the lines, pull a vacuum, and release the correct refrigerant charge. After testing, we clean up thoroughly and make a trip to Home Depot for any touch up paint needed on wall penetrations. Honest exceptions are rare a line set that exceeds standard length, a panel upgrade that was already necessary for the home, or an unusually difficult mounting surface. If any apply, we discuss them before work begins and never present them as surprises.

Questions

Straight answers

Can a three zone mini split system heat my home in winter?

Yes. Mini splits are heat pumps that provide efficient heating down to low outdoor temperatures. In Central Texas winters, they handle heating needs without a furnace.

What if my line set needs to be very long?

We list that as an honest exception. If the distance between the outdoor condenser and indoor units exceeds standard length, we will discuss the additional cost before starting. We never add surprise fees.

Do you serve San Antonio and Waco?

Yes. Our service area covers Austin and the I-35 corridor north to Waco and Killeen, south to San Antonio. The flat $2000 per unit rate applies across that entire corridor.

Is touch up paint really included?

Yes. After mounting the indoor units and running line sets through walls, we make a Home Depot run to match your wall color and touch up any marks. No extra charge.
