Velocity Mechanical, LLC vs Mini Split Reef
Updated September 2026
Velocity Mechanical, LLC holds a Texas air conditioning contractor license and works in the Leander area. Mini Split Reef publishes its full price on the internet instead of quoting in your living room. Neither approach is wrong. This page explains what each one means for you as the buyer.

The Mini Split Reef model
The Reef model: $2,000 per zone, installed, everything standard included. $4,000 for two zones, $6,000 for three. You can compare that number against any bid you collect without letting anyone into the house first.
How the local market usually prices
For context on the wider market: Ductless installs in Central Texas commonly run $3,000 to $6,000 per zone on a custom quote. Custom quoting is the industry norm, and it exists for real reasons, but it means you rarely know the price until a salesperson has been through your house.
Mini splits in Leander
Leander homeowners are often quoting garage gyms, casitas, and new home offices. All of those are textbook mini split territory, and each zone is the same flat $2,000 with us whether it is the first zone or the third.
Two pricing models
| Factor | Mini Split Reef | The common local pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $2,000 per zone installed, materials and labor. Two zones $4,000, three zones $6,000 | $3,000 to $6,000 per zone, set by custom quote |
| How you learn the price | Posted publicly before any contact | Usually after an in home estimate visit |
| Extras | Exceptions named up front: very long line set, panel upgrade the house already needed, difficult mounting | Itemized in the individual quote |
| Licensing | Installs performed by licensed contractors | Licensed contractors, verifiable on the TDLR roster |
The right hand column describes the common custom quote pattern in the Central Texas market generally. It is not a statement of Velocity Mechanical, LLC's prices or terms.
Straight answers
Is the $2,000 per zone price really all in?
Yes. Equipment, labor, line set, standard electrical, refrigerant, testing, and cleanup are included. The only exceptions, named before work starts, are a very long line set, a panel upgrade the house already needed, or unusually difficult mounting.
Do you charge more for two or three zones?
The rate is linear. One zone is $2,000, two zones are $4,000, three zones are $6,000. Multi zone equipment differences are absorbed into the flat rate.
Do you badmouth other contractors to win jobs?
No. Licensed competitors are legitimate businesses and many do excellent work. This page compares pricing models only, and the only facts stated about the other company come from the public state license roster and, where shown, their own website.
